40 Days of Living Lush

What does the word lush bring to mind? I hope it’s something like:


Verdant.
Vibrant.
Healthy.
Whole.
Abundant.
Luxurious.
Sensually rich.

What I find is that there is some sort of barrier to experiencing these kinds of sensations in our everyday lives.

We’re battling exhaustion and fatigue, pain, discontent, anxiety, overwhelm, lack of clarity. We’re constantly taking care of our families, colleagues, and our businesses.

With all of this, life becomes a game we play only in our minds, rather than our bodies. It can and does feel like there is no space for YOU. And, that disconnection from your innermost Self and sensation needs to be addressed, because this absence affects our mental and physical health.


When we practice embodiment techniques, such as those from the Vedas - i.e. yoga, Ayurveda, meditation, even storytelling is a healing modality in the Vedas! - we can begin to experience the lushness and radiance of life on a daily basis.

This improves our health, connection with our bodies, relationships with others, and the work we put into the world creatively, professionally, and within our families.


​The Sutras of Patanjali share that Yoga is the uniting of consciousness in the heart (Sutra 1.2).
