This year…let’s lose control: Magic Part 2.
On the cusp of a new year, I want to invite us to relax a bit more around the rigidity of goal setting and…manifesting. Gasp!
What would it be like to have a little less striving in the coming year and a little more embodiment? A little more spaciousness, creativity, playfulness and flow? More intention setting, pointing your arrow in a direction, and then being available to what might be in store?
The problem with goal setting and manifesting is that it often comes from the mind - what we think we want or need - rather than from the wisdom of the body. Dropping out of the mind and into the body allows a channel for the wisdom of the heart. Your heart. Your divinity.
We learn to align with that vision.
This is magic. This is the power of Spirit.
I’m sure each of you secretly long to put down the metaphorical swords and let go of the need to constantly strive, do, and accomplish. So as we enter 2024, please know this:
Nothing will fall apart if you allow some magic in as you work towards your dreams.
Nothing will be lost if you rest and put down the laptop.
Not everything is about hitting and attaining the “right” goals.
Happiness is not necessarily on the other side of any of it.
Life is about honoring the path for you, your family, and your work that is so nourishing you cannot help but also be there for others.
This is magic. This is energy medicine at play.
Magic is intuition and inner knowing.
Magic is the whispers that come through during life altering and also mundane moments - pregnancy, birth, a move, a loss of any kind, a peaceful walk, doing the dishes.
We could all remember that there is wonder in life, that most of it is beyond our control, that we can let go and everything will still be alright; and that if we do not learn how to slow down, it will catch up with us emotionally and physically.
As we enter this new year, let’s remember that contrary to what we’ve all been taught - we must depend on others.
Life requires interdependence, though the “independent woman” mantra has been preached so often.
You do not need to be in control; in fact magic requires losing control. It’s the only way to allow intuition to arise.
And, you do not need to go at it alone. I personally owe tremendous gratitude in my own life for the spiritual teachers, business mentors, contractors, bodyworkers, friends, and family who have guided me, taught me, stewarded my own healing and the growth of my own work in the world with their training, expertise, and love.
If you - like me - are ready to expand your life and work in a way that is nourishing to all parts of you in 2024, please write to me or share my services with a friend. I believe we tell stories with our words and with our bodies, and I help you uncover those stories so that you, your work in the world, and your family thrive. Those stories are a through line that connects us all.
Here’s a brief recap of the ways that storytelling and embodying magic can help you and those you know this new year:
I support individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations in their storytelling, newsletter writing, website, philanthropy efforts, campaigns and launches and more. And, I’ve helped them (and myself) raise/earn thousands of dollars in the process. Read more here.
I help women unveil the stories of their bodies, reconnect with their sensuality, and align with their next steps personally and professionally through group programs (more coming).
I train and nurture a circle of perinatal practitioners who want to ensure a future of nourished mothers and children through the Afterglow Perinatal Yoga teacher training (coming post baby #3 who is due sometime this Spring), and through mentorship in Inner Peace’s Yoga Therapy program. Read more here.
And finally, I bow to each of you in gratitude for being here, for reading the words in these letters, for your warmth and excitement, for allowing me to teach you and share the Vedic wisdoms through the art of storytelling in all its forms. Thank you. May we all flourish and relax into magic this year.
Jai Ma.
With love,
Leanne
